Welcome to a Special Edition of the Geek Shirts HQ Brand Undressed interview.

Why do you ask is this a special edition of the brand undressed interview?
Today we have an exclusive interview with a brand new site that is launching 10th March 2013.
Limiteed launching

The new site is called Limiteed and is based in the UK.

It is the latest daily tee site to be joining the ever growing number of daily tees sites that are on the Internet.
However, Limiteed are based totally in the UK (they do ship worldwide) and offer 2 colour options that most other daily tee sites do not offer.
So it is a pleasure to welcome the latest daily tee site and hailing from the UK to Geek Shirts HQ.
Who are the people behind Limiteed?
Two dedicated brothers, Tom and Josh, with a vision of bringing awesome limited edition t-shirts to the UK!
Can you start by giving some background about yourself?
Josh comes from a media background in Film and Web/Graphic design, while Tom brings his knowledge of business management and printing to the table.
Where you are from?
We are from the good ol’ South-West of England, Devon.
Why did you start a daily/weekly tee site instead of a ‘regular’ t-shirt brand?
The thing that really excited us most about the daily tee market was how fresh you can always be with designs.
If people really want to see a Dexter inspired t-shirt, then they can get that. If they want a Firefly t-shirt, you better believe we will have that up soon! Just the ability to adapt to customer needs so quickly is great.
Where did you get the name Limiteed?
We were trekking through the deep jungle of … no it’s much simpler. Tom was the one who actually came up with it, simply combining “Limited” with yet another “Tee” pun, it made sense to call it “Limiteed”.
Admittedly some people didn’t seem to get it and Google thinks we misspelled limited, but I think it will get around and no one will think any different…  we hope!
Can you tell me more about the brand Limiteed?
We set up Limiteed in the hope of making it easier for UK customers to buy limited edition tees, and to get them really quickly. One of our main aims is to provide excellent customer service.
All too often we see bad examples of customer service, and we really wanted to show how it should be done.
Of course, our brand would be nothing without the quality of the actual product to back it up, so all our tees are hand printed on tried and tested Gildan blanks by a very small team of truly passionate screen printers.
What makes Limiteed different from other similar daily/weekly tee shirt sites? What is your USP?

I would say there are a few things:

  • Fully UK based operation (Although we DO ship worldwide, for very reasonable prices too!)
  • We offer the option of 2 different colour t-shirts with the days design on.
  • We really do only offer it for 24 hours to make it super limited edition, once it’s gone, it’s gone!
  • We will always run loads of promotions and offer tons of awesome freebies, like tees, mugs and posters.

How does a designer get to feature their design on your site?
We think that offering a ‘voting pool’ system is a better and fairer way for designs to get picked. There is still an initial level of curating that takes place before a design goes live on our site, but we like the idea that potential customers get to decide what we print, and it makes the whole process a little more fun!
Who are your favourite designers that hope to feature on your site?
It would be hard to list who we would like to see on our site, as there are so many great artists. If we had to pick a few it would be MeganLara who does some fantastic work and InkOne as we own a few of his tees and they are great!
We are so excited to already have some awesome artists on board, like our fellow UK resident Simon Butler who has submitted some fantastic designs, and is actually going to be our first featured artist with his Breaking Bad design ‘Crystal Blue Persuasion’.
As a brand how much importance do you put on marketing on social media sites such as Twitter or Facebook?
Facebook and Twitter are both great sites for this type of business. We have such a fast turnaround of designs and trends so having platforms that are so immediate to consumers is amazing.
We can literally reach thousands of people within a few hours of posting. Not to mention the opportunities it opens for engagement to both designers and customers.
What plans have you had for the launch?
We have had lots of ideas over our months of solid planning, but there will most definitely be plenty of giveaways on twitter and Facebook and of course various discounts on customer’s next orders.
What’s coming next for Limiteed?
Once we have launched and the dust has settled, we can see what we want to improve.
We are definitely looking at adding a few more side products that feature the design of the day, for customers who are really in love with the design. The only way is up, and we look forward to working with new and established designers from all over the world.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years both for yourselves and your business?
I would like to think that Limiteed is still going strong and would have developed a loyal fan base. As for other developments… At the moment it’s all top secret, so you will just have to watch this space.
When getting your apparel printed what is the process that you prefer?
We believe screen printing is the best way to do designs justice. We also love how old school the method is, and not much has changed about it. Why fix something that isn’t broken?
What brands of apparel do you prefer to print on?
We will be printing on Gildan Softstyle 100%  Ring Spun Cotton tees. We know that lots of people have experience in how they look, feel and how they size up.
What would a customer expect when ordering a product from yourselves?
They can expect an easy experience from ordering the product, to receiving it in the mail. We aim to have a quick turnaround on tees- around 1-7 days to print and despatch them.
When our customers get their order in the mail, it will arrive in our cool branded bags and the tee itself with our tag of approval. Some lucky souls may even find discount cards for their next order…
Anyone you want to give a shout out to?
We’d like to say a massive thank you to all the designers that have got on board with us at these early stages and to all the new designers that join us. You guys are awesome!
Is there anything else you want to add?
We look forward to supplying some great t-shirts to our fantastic customers. There is truly something very special about limited edition tees, so we look forward to what our customers think, and that hopefully they will share their pictures on our Facebook page! 🙂
Where is the best place to find your designs and buy some of your shirts? And of course get in contact with you.
